The overarching issue behind the unfortunate statistics outlined above is lack of preparation. The business is the driving economic factor behind an owner's and their employees' lives, yet many do not prepare and do not know how to best harvest this massive, trapped asset on their balance sheets.
Exit planning is essential for business owners across all industries and stages of business, from start-up to sale. Whether you plan to sell your business to a child, partner, competitor, or private equity group, you must define exactly what you want to accomplish and develop a plan to meet those goals with limited surprises and zero regrets. We specialize in building companies that are both valuable and ready for transition utilizing actionable strategies to protect, grow and harvest the wealth trapped within businesses.
Some owners believe exit planning is something that should be done 12, 18 or 24 months before the actual sale or transition of the company. However, there are immediate benefits to building a business that is ready to sell and less dependent on individual owners.
OUR PROCESS
The Value Acceleration Methodology
Southern Capital's two concurrent planning paths of personal financial and business planning continue to evolve until an owner decides to either exit or strategically keep their business. If keeping the business, we cycle through this process until an exit event takes place.

COORDINATING EXIT STRATEGY
Aligning Micro Advisors
Business owners often come to us with an existing network of individual micro advisors. This may include anyone from real estate agents to legal consultants. However, there is often little to no ongoing communication taking place between these individual specialists. This can unfortunately result in a fragmented and potentially less efficient approach to financial planning. We have created a solution to this problem by assuming the role of macro advisor on behalf of our clients. For those in need of recommendations, we are also always more than happy to suggest members of our premiere network of strategic partners. We then manage all of the micro advisors, organize and disseminate information as needed, and most importantly, serve as a single point of contact for our clients.
